Hollywood Hospital Sky Signs

The team at Kingman were awarded the signage contract for Hollywood Private’s South Block redevelopment back in 2020. The builder was Georgiou and the Architects were Silver, Thomas, Hanley. We were also greatly assisted by Ramsay Health’s Manager of Project Development & Property Services Wayne Williams, whose contribution made the internal approval process a seamless exercise.

The Hollywood signage package included all statutory signs, internal and external wayfinding signs, and of course, the building statement sky signs. The sky signs were definitely a project highlight, These signs are fabricated from 3mm aluminium with a 2-pack paint finish and internally illuminated using high-performance LED’s. The signs have been constructed to comply with current fire safety engineering and feature perforated faces that not only look good but are illuminated exceptionally well.

The installation of these letters was achieved using elevated work platforms. Our manufacturing team focussed on ensuring the installation team could get in and out swiftly to avoid disruptions to patients and staff. The letters were pre-drilled so they could be pin fixed to the structure efficiently during installation. Our installers completed this project in record time. and the client was amazed at how quickly we were able to install their main building sign.

In addition to the sky signs, Kingman recently installed one of Hollywood Hospital’s huge illuminated pylons on Monash Avenue. Standing at 4 meters tall and just over 1 meter wide, this pylon is gigantic! The old pylon, which was a dark grey and green, has been replaced with a new, fresh design. Kingman will be replacing all of Hollywood Hospital’s other pylons along Monash Avenue, as well as adding two completely new ones on Verdun Road. If you’re quick… you might be able to go and see a before and after for yourself!
