Kingman Travelling Signs
Kingman Visual was established in Perth in 1984 but the family roots go as far back as 1922 when Frank Kingman began the family sign writing dynasty.

Hovea
When Vernon and Dianne moved in 1994, so did the business. They built a large shed to house the growing business on one end of Dianne’s horse arena.

Malaga Drive
In 1997, Vernon and Dianne decided to invest in a custom-built factory in Malaga. This factory is still located on the corner of Malaga Drive and Victoria Road. This was a massive investment for them and a huge gamble. At the time, there were only 6 staff (including themselves).
(Look at how bare Malaga Drive looks. Our building was the first one that was built as you come off Reid Highway – now that whole area is full of factories)

Rebrand
Kingman rebranded their logo and went from Kingman Signs to Kingman Visual. This new trading name not only gave Kingman a fresh new look – the new name also moved away from the word 'signs', not limiting Kingman to just doing signage. It also could cover so much more and leave room for expansion into various signage related markets.

Kent Road steel factory
The gamble of moving the business to a brand new building in Malaga paid off. Over the next 12 years, not only did we outgrow our factory, but we also outgrew the one we built next door AND we also had to relocate the steel department to an entirely other factory in Malaga to make way for the digital print department.

450 Victoria Road, Malaga
By 2009 our staff had grown to a total of 35. This was massive growth, and one we attribute to our core values of service, quality and reliability. We had outgrown our premises and chose this year to relocate to our current home in Victoria Road. This way we could have all departments back under one roof.

Wild Cats sponsors
Kingman spent a few years as sponsors for the Perth Wildcats. This relationship was great exposure for the Kingman brand.

Perth's new stadium
Kingman continued to grow over the years to reach a team of over 50 staff. With a number of impressive projects under our belt over the years, Kingman were honoured to win the tender on Perth’s new Stadium, Optus Stadium. Kingman was responsible for the manufacture and installation of over 12,500 signs for this project.

New owners
From humble beginnings, the Kingman family went from being a small operator to a market leader in the signage industry. The Kingman’s built a legacy to be extremely proud of and retired in 2020. With Kingman being sold to new owners, the Kingman legacy will live on. Kingman still has the same great team, just a new captain steering the ship. We are all very excited to be part of this new chapter of change and growth.
